Introduction
The A*STAR Pre Graduate Award (PGA) is a collaboration with National University of Singapore (NUS) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU). It provides an avenue for bright young undergraduates at our local universities to pursue their PhD studies and research immediately after their undergraduate studies. The programme also enables them to be exposed to research attachment(s) at A*STAR research institutes and interact with scientists and researchers in similar fields.
Eligibility
- Top Year 2, 3 and 4 undergraduates from Biomedical, Physical Science and Engineering at NUS or NTU
- Open to Singaporeans, Singaporean Permanent Residents and ASEAN Nationals
- Candidates must be on track to attain at least a good 2nd Upper Class of Honours or equivalent
- Candidates must not concurrently hold any other scholarships or awards
Award details+
- Successful candidates will be provided with financial support for the duration of their undergraduate studies:-
- Full tuition fees
- Monthly sustenance allowance ($460 to $760 per month, depending on year of study)
- Research attachment opportunities at A*STAR Research Institutes
- Candidates awarded in Years 2 or 3 must maintain good academic standing for the award to be renewed the following year.
+All rates/allowances are subject periodic review and to adjustments by A*STAR.
Upon Graduation
Upon completion of their undergraduate studies, candidates are required to embark on a PhD programme within 12 months. Candidates can apply to A*STAR scholarships in their final year of studies at NUS or NTU.
