Research Projects
The core research activities of the SERC RIs are in the economically important industry clusters. A key role of the RI is to engage in partnerships with industry players to anchor and expand their activities in Singapore. Since 2001, the RIs have been positioned to undertake industry-oriented research on a mid- to long-term horizon. IME, DSI, I2R, IMRE and ICES are positioned to develop technologies relevant to specific industries in the electronics, infocomms, engineering and chemicals clusters, SIMTech positioned closer to industry to help solve advanced manufacturing problems while IHPC provides supporting computational science and engineering capabilities. The seamless integration of the RIs is key to addressing industry needs, which may span multiple disciplines.
