Public Sector R&D Funding

Introduction
This grant call is open to all researchers from publicly funded local universities, polytechnics, non-defence-related public sector agencies and other organs of state. A*STAR Research Institutes and private companies may only be involved as collaborators.

The Council will normally only support projects with a total project value (which excludes in kind contributions, existing equipment and manpower) less than $3M. Typical period of award is three years. The Council will review proposal submissions once a year.

All proposals would be peer-reviewed. The major criteria for award will be the technical merit of the proposal and track record of the researchers. SERC's Review Panel will review each proposal submission. The Panel comprises researchers from academia and Research Institutes. Note that SERC reserves the right to redirect PSF proposals to other funding schemes where appropriate.

The deadline for proposal submission will be on the 15th of January every year and successful applicants will typically be informed by the end of July.  All applications should be made through the Science and Engineering Research Council's Project Administration, Management & Submission (PAMS) System. To access PAMS, please login at http://pams.a-star.edu.sg. For new users, registration will be required. All proposals must be submitted through their respective Office of Research/Principal's or Director's Office/Agency Headquarters or equivalent.
